Call them! They will tell you. My insurance told me that it takes 30 days
from when they receive it. My insurance has had mine for two weeks. In
two more weeks i will call them if I havent heard. Good luck!

It depends on your insurance and then sorry to be a downer but there isn't
a guarantee of approval. I got denied and filed an appeal. Once I filed
my appeal I got approved about a week later. Good Luck!

I was a self pay, but I know a lot of people who have had to go through the
approval process and I am an RN who used to work at an insurance company
reviewing these surgical requests to determine medical necessity.
I would encourage you to call the insurance company, get the name of the
person assigned to your case, their direct extension, and an estimate on
when you might hear something back. You need to be your own advocate and
be very diligent on checking on the status of your review to ensure the
most expeditious outcome. It shouldn't be this way... it just is.
Good luck,

It depends on your insurance. As long as you have provided the insurance
company/WLS office with the correct documents, I would give yourself at
least 4 weeks. Mine took 2 weeks. Good Luck!!!!!

It can take all the way up to 6 months to be approved. I had medicare and
it took 6 months. I have talked with others that got approved within 30
days. But, other insurance companies have taken longer.

Yes, they really are all different. I had an answer one week after faxing
documents to my docs office. They filed the request for me. Although, my
first request was denied. More paperwork and then the appeal was
APPROVED!! Good luck to you.
