Question:
Is Minute Maid Light Lemonade carbonated?
I know we can't have carbonated drinks. Minute Maid Light Lemonade was an option I had today and I asked if it was carbonated. They said no. It also doesn't seem to have 'bubbles'. However, I hate to drink it if there is a chance it is carbonated. Anybody know? — thesherry (posted on December 18, 2007)

I believe it is NOT carbonated. BUT, I think it does have some calories and
you may have to check the sugar content, because as we all know,
"Light" does not always mean "Sugar Free". Crystal
Light is a much better choice in my book.... Happy Losing......

I would stick with crystal light. You can also mix it with unflavored
beneprotien to get you protien in. Good luck.

I use country time 1/2 the sugar lite pink lemonade. It has 35 caloires per
8 oz serving and 8 grams of sugar.

No carbonation, but it does have calories and check the sugar content. I do
fine with it, but drink iced tea or crystallight most of the time.

Caronation can cause some problems after surgery. These drinks are also
caffinated, which most doctors do not want you to have. Lastly, lemonade is
a citrus based drink. My surgeon and my education classes stressed to avoid
citrus based drinks (oj, grapefruit, etc.) due their acidity, which could
cause healing or ulcer problems shortly post surgery.

I am not sure how far out you are. I am 20 months out and I will sometimes
when we are out get a lite lemonade when everyone else is getting a soda.
I don't do Ice tea since most all have caf. I use the lite lemonade as
something a little different once in a while. I all so like crystal light
grapefruit.

It is NOT carbonated. I know that for sure becasue here in Michigan we pay
a .10 deposit on any beverage that is carbonated and there is never one on
this, but I drink it enough to just know it is not. I think there may be
like 5 calories per serving like most crystal lite products, though, in the
diet version, but according to my doc any drink that is under 10 calories
per serving is the same as 0 calorie drinks since we dont absorb all the
calories anyway.

Minute Maid Light Lemondate is my favorite. There is only 5 calories per
can and it tastes way better then that crystal light crap in my humble
opinion.

I, too, would advise Crystal lite-- and the nice thing about it is you can
take it with you-- just buy the packs to put in bottled water-- works just
as well to drop in a glass of water at a restaurant... Happy Holidays and
Happy Losing...

Early on carbonation is a problem for many people--- but longer term
post-ops tend to be able to tolerate carbonation in moderation. Not that
it can possibly stretch your pouch (you'd burp or otherwise pass gas before
any damage can be done), but all the air in the bubbles can be irritating.
As for the great sugar debate in the stuff, a short trip to the
Minutemaid.com website revealed that it has 5 calories per 12 oz but no
carbs-- better than lite beer and, on a hot summer day, maybe as much fun.

My nutritionist said this was fine to drink :) It's offered at a lot of
restaurants, so it's a good choice :)
