My ulcer pain was continuous pain unless I had food in my pouch. Spicy
foods or any citrus would make it hurt more. I started taking Prilosec and
have been pain free since a week after beginning it. Try the Prilosec for 2
weeks and see if that helps. If not, it may be something more serious that
you need to see your surgeon about. HTH

You should ALWAYS, ALWAYS call your surgeon first. Don't try to home
diagnose. I had an ulcer and then months later ended up with similar pain
and thought it was an ulcer again but turned out to be a hernia and a twist
in my intestine. Best of luck to you!!!

I had rny in Feb 2004, and only 2 wks post-op I started having lots of
stomach discomfort I would describe it as a cramping type pain. Everything
I ate or drink caused it, even water and it was up high in the pouch area.
I then went to see my surgeon and he did a series of testing to check for
an ulcer.Immediately after drinking the barium for one of the test I was in
relief. I then was prescribed protonix and take it everyday. I will still
have flare-ups if I miss a dosage. I hope this helps you.
