You are going to feel tired for a while as your body heals and works to
lose weight, yet maintain its needed functions on drastically limited
calories. It takes 6-8 weeks to heal from the surgery, as well as
completely ridding your body from the anesthesia effects so be easy on
yourself. As far as the protein shakes, I could tolerate some, while
others were nasty and upset my stomach. Take time to allow your body to
heal, adjust and try different types of proteins until you find one that
you can handle. Sip your fluids constantly through the day to ward of
dehydration and that will help with nausea as well. Hang in there, you
will feel the benefits of surgery soon. Shelly Charlier

Try "Isopure" from GNC. It is a clear liquid protein Drink. Pour
over ice for the best taste. I found it easier to drink. Every person I
have ever spoke to who has had this surgery has had a different post-op
experience. In my opinion any "Quality" surgeon should have a
clinical nutritionist on staff to answer your questions. 11 days is still
really early, hang in there and keep in touch with the medical
professionals.

Like William said, Isopure is great. It's the only thing my husband can
keep down and if you add a little Splenda to it, taste just like Kool-Aid!!

That is normal. Your digestive system has been replumbed! I find that I
have to wait at leat an hour after eating to drink and at least an hour
after drinking to eat. Also, some food go down easier than others. You
just have to find what works for you.

I agree everyone is different- personnally I couldn't tolerate Isopure's
taste- At 11 days I had yogurt, Instant breakfast, slim fast. I am now 3 mo
and to assist in protein intake I take in 3 Solgar Whey to Go protein
tablets per day (each tab = 11gms protein) I chew them- not the most
fantastic taste but it takes less time and none of the yucky tastes of the
protein drinks.

For the nausea, you should check with your doctor to see if you can take a
protese inhibitor like Nexium. I took one a day for about 3 months. I
tried to stop once or twice, but would get nauseated. I just recently
stopped again and, so far, so good. It may really make a difference for
you. Good luck!
