Question:
daily vomitting...
i will be 2 years post-op next month...and for about the last month and a half i have been throwing up almost every day. i sit down to at least one meal and start to eat...go throw up and then i can eat some more. it's not that i'm making myself throw up. i just get sick and have to...i am not eating too fast or over eating or anything. i'm doing everything right and it's freaking me out...the first i thought i had the flu, but i had a flu shot back in november...also, about a month ago i threw up blood...a lot of it, but it was just the one time so i didn't do anything about it...anyway...i have an appointment with my surgeon on thursday...but if anyone has advice for what i should ask him about that would be great...i hate throwing up!!!!! it's soooooo gross... — kyratai (posted on March 20, 2006)

Andrea,
I spent the first 13 months after my open RNY vomiting. I had a SLD with
marginal ulcers , had a revision to transect me, developed a stricture
after that procedure, had that dilated x 2, and continued to vomit. I flew
to Washington state to get evaluated by Dr Oh, as my surgeon told me to
learn to live with vomiting.. you dont have to live this way.. Dr Oh
diagnosed me with a fairly uncommon occurrence.. an atonic pouch.. so I had
a second revision to reconstruct the pouch.. If you need more info from me,
contact me at [email protected]
Peachy hugs

As a nurse and a previous GI Nurse no one should EVER, EVER ignore
vomitting blood. I hope you have calld your surgeon and told them what was
wrong and what has benn happening. I would not think that the surgeon
would want to wait until Thuirsday to see you!

Since this is a problem that just started a few months ago, i would go back
to my surgeon for a checkup, defiantely something wrong here hon. Not good
to puke like that all the time, the acid will ruin your esophagus. Good
Luck!!!!!!!!!!!
