Question:
I know that all doctor's are different, but my surgery date is April 10th.
I am wondering what types of testing is done for your pre-op. — hartnell (posted on March 9, 2006)

I don't know if you are talking pre-approval tests for the wls or pre-op
tests for the hospital.
I had an ekg, chest x-ray and the day before, had a cross and type
blood workdone.
The hospitals have their required testing, as well as the Dr., so call
and ask!

About a week or two before surgery I had a chest xray and an EKG, as well
as the typical blood pressure, etc test. Then there was urine testing and
blood testing to see if you currently have any vitamin deficiencies or may
be pregnant. My heart rate was measuring high, so I had to go back in and
get a dobbler on my legs and a CAT scan on my chest to check for any blood
clots in my legs and/or lungs... being that I am only 24, thank goodness I
was clean of both! But all doctors are different. You should check with
yours.

WELL I AM JUST ABOUT FINISH WITH MY PRE-TESTING PRAYFULLY, BUT I HAD TO SEE
THE GASTOROLOGIST; NUTRITIONIST;CARDIO DOCTOR; PYSCIATRIST;AND THE
PULMONARY DOCTOR. I DO BELIEVE THAT IT MAY VERY DEPENDING ON YOUR PRIMARY
CARE PHYSICIAN. JUST KEEP IN MIND THAT SOME OF THESE TESTING MAY REQUIRE A
FEW VISITS.
