Question:
Am I eating too much?
I am about 7 weeks post-op. My weight loss is soooooooo slow. I can eat 1 wing or half a leg of chicken, is that too much food? — Luscious1 X. (posted on March 3, 2003)

I wouldn't worry about winning the race at 7 weeks out. I only lost like 25
pounds the first couple of months but I made it to goal just fine. I don't
think a wing or half a leg of chicken is too much food. Especially if you
aren't eating anything else with it! Hang in there and (I know it's hard
but) try not to be impatient. Just think of all that saggy skin you are
avoiding by losing at a reasonable rate! =)

You didn't mention how much you lost, but 7 wks is WAY too early to worry
about not losing. Compare what you eat now to what you ate before, is that
too much? From just eating 1/2 leg of chicken, it sounds like you need to
eat more. You really need to eat to lose.

You need to learn right now not to compare your weight loss with anyone
else. You will drive yourself nuts! You can take 10 people, same age, same
height, same weight, surgery on the same day, same diet every day and all
10 would lose differently. Its just a fact! There is always someone who
is losing faster and someone losing slower than you , so stop the
comparisons right now. And no, your not eating too much-not at all. At 7
weeks I could eat the entire leg.
