Question:
So what about stretching after having RYN for some time?
Can the same routine for VGS work for RYN? That is, full liquid for 2 to 3 weeks then mush diet. Can one get the RYN poush "tight" again? — Pilar12 (posted on June 28, 2010)

If I understand correctly, you would like to know if after the pouch
stretches would you be able to tighten it by eating less? The answer to
this tricky. The way our stomach is made the skin is able to stretch and
contract to facilitate digestion and movement. which would then mean that
yes depending on how much you eat it will accommodate. However the changes
are probably very slight, which is why it is difficult for us to lose
weight just by restricting how much we eat. our stomach has stretched so
much that we constantly want more food to compensate for the size.
So the answer would then be, if you make a mistake and eat more than you're
suppose to every once in a while it won't be the end of the world. But if
you make a habit of it and stretch your pouch you will likely keep on doing
it to the point where the damage will be irreparable without more surgery.
I am very familiar with this because I did the same thing and I am paying
dearly for it. I gained 90lbs out of the 150 lbs that I lost. Please as
much as possible do measure how much you are eating otherwise you will be
back to where you started. I am now trying to get back on track but it is
much harder than before.
Hope this helps!
