Hi there, I had protein shakes and liquids, I was supposed to start this like the 4 days after my surgery. If I were you, I would ask your surgeon, I think you are supposed to be drinking protein shakes as well, please ask your surgeon soon. Good luck my weight loss sister!

Sorry about the job...uck, stress eating, we've all been there before. Get back to basics, maybe go on your pre-op liquid diet for a couple weeks, then five 4 oz meals a day, like in the beginning, mainly protein.... walk two miles instead of 1.5, jog 30 min rather than 20...good luck.

Hi! I ate sugar-free jello (counts as a liquid), drank lots of warm beef broth with unflavored protein powder in it (Unjury or Any Whey), bottles of IsoPure (tastes like adult koolaid, my favorite flavors were Grape Frost and Pineapple-Orange-Banana), and Oh Yeah shakes - may favorite was the vanilla, even though I am a real chocoholic! I also drank Herbal Tea (the fruit-flavored ones), with half a "bullet" of "New Whey" protein liquid in it. For instance, if I was drinking orange zinger tea, I'd use the orange flavored 'bullet', and if I was using wild berry zinger, I'd use the blue raspberry, fruit punch, or grape 'bullet'. Warm things seemed to make my pouch feel better than cold, although others on the forum will tell you the opposite. You have to try both and decide for yourself. I also made this incredible spinach soup in my vita mix (which liquifies everything), and so got in a lot of iron and stuff that way. Hope this helps. It won't be long before you're on the soft/mushy foods like fat free cottage cheese, Taco Bell refried beans, Eggbeaters, smooth yogurt, and sugar-free-fat-free puddings.

Hi Christe..Did they give you a Nutritionist to call or is thier someone in the Drs office they told you to call with issues? I was very lucky..my Dr has someone I can call as need. Iam really big on doing as YOUR Dr tells you. Did the hospital give you info when you left? You need to drink..do not allow yourself to become dehydrated. SIP SIP SIP..if you can..get your liq protein in.I wish you well.

thanks everyone, I didn't get to see the nutritionist before I left the hospital and told the nurse but she just said, you have to go we need your bed. lovely, really. The day after my surgery they gave me youghurt, carrot soup, apple juice, orange juice and jello. There was no way on earth I could eat all that stuff. Since then I have been drinking water, eating jello, soup. I better get some protein shakes I guess. this bites. :o( but thanks for your advice, help. :o)

you need to check with your surgeons office. Mine did not have me start on protein shakes until 10 days out, every Dr is different. Just be sure to keep up your liquids, sf jello, & broths.
