At 8 weeks out I only had shakes and protein, I only started eating carbs
at 4 1/2 months out, plus I reached 75% of my weight. This was when I was
allowed to eat carbs. You need to check with your surgeon and ask him what
to eat.

It is too soon to be eating "full meals". At two months I think
(if memory serves) was just adding soft foods (tuna, cottage cheese,
non-pureed soups, etc.).
I am almost 3 years out and over the past year - year and a half - I do eat
TV dinners for lunch while I am at work. They are easy and cheap and
filling and if you look at the nutritional values ---- go with high
protein, high fiber, low sugar and low fat ---- I have a couple WW ones
that I like. Lean Cuisine makes a lot of high protein meals --- they even
make things easier by listing on the outside of the packages which dinners
are high in protein, fiber, etc. so you don't have to hunt and peek each
and everyone one. Start with the ones that are high in protein and check
the rest of the stats. Again, I am almost 3 years out - and am maintaining
just fine and dandy. I still try to eat with the ratio of: for every 100
calories - 6 grams of sugar or less and 3 grams of fat or less. I always
eat protein first and then follow up with the other food pyramid levels.
Again, at 8 weeks ---- you are way too early to be eating full meals ---
talk to your surgeon or NUT and plan out a menu that works best for you and
good luck. BTW - most days, I do not even eat all of my TV dinner. I am a
firm believer in portion control -- and with this new tool, it sure does
make it easier to remember not to eat too much.

My surgeon doesn't want us to ever eat frozen meals. He says that is
staying in the "fast food" mentality.
