Question:
3 weeks out and constant stomach ache?

I am only 3 weeks out from RNY. I am having a constanct stomach ache whether I eat anything or not. Lasts usually all day. Going back to doc this week but wanted to get any info I could from those who have possibly experienced this before. Thx for the help!    — mlacosta (posted on July 12, 2009)

I am not sure about RNY, since I had lap band. But with any WLS, a constant stomach ache is probably not a good thing. If it gets worse before you can see your Dr. go to the ER and have it checked out. You could have a stricture possibly. HTH, Trish

Hi Michele - I had Lap RNY on 5/15/09 - I have to say that is you are experiencing pain, you need to consult your surgeon. That being said, your surgery is very fresh - at 3 weeks I was able to get up by myself and move around, I was doing my walking, but I wasn't bending over a lot, carrying anything heavier than 5 lbs, etc. THis surgery is still very fresh and takes a long time to heal. What kind of stomach ache is it? Do you feel nauseous? Are you having shooting pains? is it on the sid where your new stomach is? There are so many factors.

mine was caused by gas pain are you taking anything to protect the lining of the stomach
