I have IBS...been better since surgery, but it keeps me going every day
like clockwork and i don't get constipated much. If you are having pain on
your right side, I know constipation is not your problem, watch what foods
you are eating cuz something your are eating is causing the spasm. There
are meds out there to control it. I used Levsin, an anti spasm med. Ask
your dr about an antispasm med once you've been diagnosed. Good luck to
you. Hugs, kim

I have irritable Bowel Syndrome, and have had some relief from my Vertical
Sleeve Gastrectomy, but I have had more from finding out what food
allergies I have. Once I discovered my allergies, I began to avoid those
foods, and my irritable bowel syndrome got much better. I would suggest
that you get tested for allergies and find what could possibly be causing
the irritation of your bowels. i hope this helps, Hugh

I had IBS before my surgery, but since the surgery (over 9 months ago),
I've only had one episode. Mine came more from what I ate like greasy
foods, spicy foods, etc. But I did still have episodes from stress. Now,
I'm more or less just regular. I haven't had the constipation that others
experience. Watch what you're eating and see if you can tie it to a type
of food.

Do some reading on probiotics and ask your doctor if this would be a good
option for the symptoms. I have not been officially diagnosed with IBS, but
had the symptoms...I found out I was lactose intolerant and that was
causing the gas and abdominal pain...as well as artificial sweetener
allergies! Probiotics helped me tremendously!
