Congratulations on your surgery date! I had nausea after my surgery for a
week or so. My doctor prescribed Zofran sublingual tabs and they worked
great! As far as food getting stuck, chew your food very thoroughly, and
don't take a bite larger than the size of a pencil eraser. And eat slowly.
It's a learning process, but it's doable. Good Luck!

I had a little nausea in the beginning, but not enough to vomit...I think
most of us get food stuck at least once during the journey...after the
first time, you REALLY don't want it to happen again...Drinking water too
fast is not fun either...It feels like someone is standing with a high heel
stuck in your chest...It hurts! I chew papaya enzyme often in the
beginning to help with stuck food...Papaya literally shreds protein and
breaks it down super fast and helped me a lot! I still use it when I eat
red meat or even carbs...It is the natural ingredient in meat tenderizer as
well! Tastes good too! Look for it in any health food store. They have one
with pineapple/papaya blend and it works as well, but I like the taste of
the papaya alone! Both work though...

It's not a given that you will have nausea. I didn't have any. I am 11 days
post-op and still haven't had any. ...Susan
