Don't weigh every day and be sure to get in the max amount of fluids. Hang in there - it will happen!

Don't worry, this is very normal. I only lost 5 lbs in the first three weeks. You body is in freakout mode. It has a lot of adjusting to do. You are probably retaining a lot of water from the surgery still. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do and things will shift. One thing that really helped me is buying a scale that measured fat and water percentages as well as weight. I'm almost four months out. Today I got on the scale and it said I'd gained 5 lbs. Yikes! But the fat percentage was down .5% and the water percentage was up 1.5% so it will shift later. More important to lose the fat then the weight anyway. I like having 3 numbers to compare. Also, it's best if i don't get on the scale but once a week. Pay attention to how your clothes fit and how you are fitting into your environment. Is there more room between you tummy and the steering wheel? Did you need to move the driver's seat forward? That kind of thing. These can be very encouraging. today I went through all my clothes to weed out. Things that were tight on me or unwearable last spring are very lose now and almost falling off. That's encouraging. Don't worship the scale. It's a cruel task master. Laura

I agree: Do NOT weigh yourself every day! Our bodies shed and retain water and probably even more so after surgery. Have confidence that it will happen; do what you should such as drinking water, exercising, vitamins, protein.....it's not just about the weight: it's a whole life change and that takes time. Good Luck!

Try to wean yourself off the scale and only weigh every couple of days. Bouncing around is common - could be water retention or a list of other possibilities. More importantly, don't go by the notion that you will lose in a set pattern. Everyone is different, and while we all would love to lose weight consistently, it rarely happens that way. Patience is key!

I am about 3.5 weeks out and the same thing happened to me about 1 week out....I stalled for 2 weeks!! I kept doing what I was suppose to be doing but was so discouraged - then overnight I started losing again! I am now 21 pounds down since surgery. It is frusterating - I know, but hang in there....your body will react when it is ready! V-
