You need to contact your doctor's office. Every doctor has their own idea
of what a pre-op diet needs to be. For example, mine was clear liquids the
day before, nothing by mouth after midnight, and that's it. But, that
doesn't mean that's what your doctor wants, and if you don't follow what
your doctor wants, you could end up with your surgery postponed.

My surgeon had no liquid diet pre-op protocol, nor does he require a pureed
form for the first few weeks past surgery. Every surgeon has his own. My
surgeon recommended low carb, high protein, good water intake and
exercise--those things you'll have to past surgery anyway. It worked for
me--I lost 17 pounds the 3 weeks prior to surgery.

I agree with Shirley, contact your physicians office. I'm somewhat
surprised this hasn't been gone over with you already via the doctor's
protocol for surgical patients. I would not wait, call first thing
tomorrow. And follow what your physician wants you to do/eat/drink to a
"t", so as not to complicate anything for your procedure. The
costs, in my opinion are not terribly steep...often, most items can be
purchased at your local Wal-mart. Some, not all, that is... your doctor
may have a special regimen. Good luck and Happy New You in the New Year!
