Question:
Has anyone had problems with hair loss with the Lap-Band procedure?

Hair loss after the lapband means you are not getting enough protein.
Don't get me wrong, some hair loss is normal - you are in a rapid weight
loss process which almost always creates some hair loss. But, if the loss
is bad enough to be evident to others - you need to up your protein intake.
The hair willl come back once you level out on the weight loss and are
getting the proper protein through your diet and supplements.

I never had hair loss with lap band either, maybe because I made sure I
always got in all my protein and also my weight loss has not been super
fast. Averaging about 5-8 pounds per month, it's been fairly slow, steady,
and healthy.

the surgery type does not effect loss -- it is the lack of protein --keep
up with your protein intake and you will not have a problem with hair loss
-- i am almost 8 months out and my hair is growing!

Hi! I am 6-1/2 years post-op and I started losing my hair after surgery.
I could see my pink scalp and just about died. They told us to EAT MORE
PROTEIN. My hair is back just as thick as ever, but it sure scared me for
a while. Don't worry, it will thicken up again.
