I had surgery 3 hours away, so, I stayed the night in the hospital. I had surgery on Friday and becuse I was on Pain meds, I did not go back until Wednesday. I had no complications, just a long drive. It all depsends on you pain tolerance. Good Luck!

Delores, I think it varies and depend on how well you get up and move around after the surgery. You went back to work quick. I'm going to be out at least 4 weeks.

Delores, I has Lap-Band on Friday Dec 15th. I spent the night in the hospital (better meds there than at home!). I probably could have returned to work by late the following week, but due to the holiday I have two weeks off. I am enjoying a slower recovery and not doing too much each day. I also have a 100+ mile round trip commute to work, so I think that would have been a bit much everyday. I am two weeks out today and I feel WONDERFUL, still not a 100% but don't have any pain. Lost 20 pounds too so that is so worth it! Best of luck. Christina S

Delores, First of all, good luck to you on your upcoming surgery. In answer to your question, my physician requires that you stay off from work for a minimum of 2 weeks if there are no complications from the LapBand. I had my surgery on 12/5 and went back to work on 12/20. I was very sore for about the first week but I think 2 weeks was an adequate amount of time. Hope this helps! Mary

I stayed overnight (barix clinics want you to) and went home the next day, which was a friday. I went back to work on Wed of that next week. I could have gone back on tuesday but we had snow and I wanted to play it safe. It also depends on what kind of work you do. I am 10 months out and have lost 62 pounds or %57 of my excess body weight. Good luck and best wishes. Phyllis
