No I don't think so. Mine didn't

Mine did, probably because my diabetes control got better. If you wear glasses, the frames may become too loose after significant weight loss. Mine couldn't be adjusted propertly, so new frames were in order. Shadow

I haven't read any professional studies on the matter. Mine hasn't so far (I'm 4.5 months post op). But I have read posts on here where people with diabetes have experienced better eyesight. I'm not familiar with diabetes so I don't know the relationship between losing so much weight and improved eyesight. So I guess it's possible!

I am 9 months post-op. I just went to the eye dr last Fri. My script changed a small amount in one eye, the other stayed the same. However, they did the drops in my eyes to diliate them. They examined my eyes, and I was told that they did not see any indication of high blood pressure or diabetes in either of my eyes.

If you wear contact lenses, the curvature of your eye might change. My eye doctor told me years ago that signifigant weight gain or loss might mean needing to have the prescription changed, not so much for strength, but for the shape of the eye. Gee, does this mean I had fat eyes, too? =-0 --Mary

My vision has not changed , but I watched a news cast a few week ago about a woman that had surgery and she lost her sight. They found that she stopped taking her vitamins and she lost her vision because she was deficient in vitamin A. Her vision is back now, but she learned a lesson. As long as you take your vitamins there should not be a problem with your vision.

I lost over 180 pounds, and mine hasn't changed.

What kind of problems? Night blindness would be vit A problems. Just things being blurry, like aging? Are you taking dry form vit A?

I thought maybe I needed to have my vision checked again because it has changed. My eye doc says the malabsorption of vitamin A could be making my night vision worse which is why I primarily wear glasses.
