Question:
Wanted: Milwaukee PCP
I am looking for a PCP in Milwaukee that is supportive of WLS. My current PCP is not. I have decided to have DS by Dr. Marchsini in Brazil since I am a self-pay. But, I need a PCP here in Milwaukee for my pre-op tests and post-op follow-ups. I was hoping that someone in the area who has had WLS could recommend someone to me. Thanks for your attention! Hey Jennifer,
My doctor in Bogota. Colombia did all my pre-op test the day before
surgery. My general practioner is my follow-up doctor. She emails my
doctor in Bogota to make sure that all my test results look good.

Jennifer, many surgeons will do the pre-op lab the same day or one day
prior to surgery. The only down fall to that is if there is a problem with
your labs. You'll be stuck in Brazil when you could have at least had a
few days to get any discrepancies corrected. Since you are "self
pay", is there a reason you aren't doing your WLS here? I was self
pay and my surgeon was here in Washington DC - a fine doctor AND gentleman!
Good luck! Sherry

Thank you for your responses. I am really hoping that someone in the
Milwaukee, WI area responds with a referral as well. Sherry, you ask why I
am going to Brazil versus self-pay here for my DS. The answer is simple
for me -- $25,000 less for the same surgery. And most importantly, it
being performed by someone that has done several hundred of these
procedures versus a Dr. that has done fewer than 20.
Thanks for your posts :)

Hi I have Dr David Munoz at Lake Shore Medical Clinic. He has been very
supportive of my WLS. He did all my preop testing and history &
physicals even though I used a surgeon at All Saint's in Racine. It all
went rather smoothly. He has had 2 other patients who had WLS and were
successful. He is funny because he is so happy & amazed at my progress.
His nurse is Maryann. 414-762-7270 is his South Milwaukee Office number.
Good luck, let me know how everything goes. Cathy
