Question:
Has any one gone in to A Fib while being put under anastetic? What was your outcome?
The Dr. Cancelled my surgery, 2 echocardiograms showed nothing, blood work was all negitive except slight decrease in thyroid levels and 2 ekg's were normal. The a fib disapeared as soon as the stoped the anestetic....Any how I will be on an "event monitor" for a month (better safe than sorry) any how has any one else had this problem and were they able to do the surgery without it happening again. — KIMBERLY L. I know everyone is different. I have had a fib problem for a few years. I
kept telling Docs I had it but they wouldn't believe it because my labs and
EKG's were always normal. Finally I got a good cardiologist who decided to
play detective. He put me on a holter monitor and I kept a diary, we
determined that some over-the-counter meds caused the problem. The
cardiologist reviewed me before surgery and said that losing the weight was
very important for ym heart. I was able to have the surgery 5 mos ago. The
anesthesiologist used a different class of drugs. ( I have had anethesia
problems with past surgeries).
