Question:
I'm having the sleeve on 6/29--wanting support
I just got approval today and surgeon is able to schedule me for next Tuesday. I'm excited, nervous, etc, etc. I'd like to have some "friends" that I can login and share info and support. — supermomaz (posted on June 23, 2010)

Hi! First of all, good luck on your surgery and congrats on getting
approval! My sleeve surgery is three days after yours -- 7/2. Feel free
to email me and "friend" me. We can support each other through
the pre-op and post-op process. I also suggest you post this request on
the vertical sleeve gastrectomy forum/board. I have found some great
support by posting on that board.

I am so glad to hear that you are looking for support. I had my vsg on
December 29 and I'm thrilled with it. I have lost an additional 42 pounds
since my surgery, for a total of 67 pounds. I've had to post new pictures
on all my social networking sites. By all means, post on the VSG board,
they are so helpful, and request friends from the members there. There are
lots of things to get used to, and they are all terrific. Good luck to
both of you!!

I had the sleeve July 22 08 and have lost 120 pounds. I feel great, have
had no complications. I enjoy this so much, went from a 26 to a size 10
pants, 3 and 4 XL to a large and x large, depends on the brand. If you have
any questions I would be happy to try to answer them or just be here for
support. My email is [email protected] Congrats on your upcoming
SURGERY.

Good morning Betsy. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I had the
sleeve done 2 years ago this month. I have lost 80 pounds and have
maintained that loss for about 14 months. The sleeve is the best gift that
I could have ever given to myself. The gift of my good health now is worth
even far more than losing the weight although of course, I am thrilled to
be able to wear cute clothes again and feel good about myself. I come to
the OH website every day specifically to look for someone who is needing
encouragement. I find in helping others, it helps me to stay motivated and
encouraged. I am addicted to exercise now. And you will find that after
your surgery and you are able to, exercise is so very important! Retraining
the way that you think about food and just focusing on eating healthy will
be very important within that first 9 months after your surgery. That's
like our window of opportunity to reshape our habits and lose the old
eating habits for good! I wish you much success. Please email me anytime
at [email protected] I am excited for you!!!! God Bless
