Question:
Does anyone know if Georgia medicaid will cover gastric bypass surgery?

I'm sure I qualify for the surgery, but I'm not sure medicaid will cover the cost. I'm 29, 5'8 and weigh over 500 lbs. Do you think the will cover it due to medical necessity?    — cindy_lu_who (posted on December 16, 2009)

YES!!! It does. I have Medicaid in GA and I am having my surgery January 11, 2010. You should call Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics 404-881-8020. I know that they accept medicaid. Dr. Larry Hobson is going to do my surgery. I am 27, 5'6" and 270 lbs. So I'm sure you will be covered too!! Good luck and keep us updated on how everything is going.
