Question:
anyone with low platelets and low wbc count post op

i had the vsg exactly 1 year this month. my surgeon didnt do any post op lab. i lost my insurance when husband was laid off. he recently started a new job with clinic that provided free lab to employee and family. i went in i found out i have low platelets that has dropped about 65,000 since march(i passed out at work and ended up in er)and low wbc. i'm concern because our insurance dont officially kick in until end of january.now i have to have more lab(out of pocket).keep me in your prayers.    — cge268 (posted on November 18, 2009)

i went back to clinic. they checked my iron ferritin, iron binding capacity and retic count. the fnp told me she felt is was related to anemia. whoa.sigh of relief. she also put me on iron tablet twice a day and b12 injections monthly. they are rechecking the lab in one month. now i can stop writing my will. lol. thanks cathy for your response.
