Question:
I'm a week and a half post op - lap band. Having pain in my chest and stomach
Is it normal to be uncomfortable a week and a half post op with the lap band? I'm still having some chest pain and have an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and belly. Has anyone else been uncomfortable at this stage? I know it's still early but just want to know how long this will last?? thanks all! — Lisa B. (posted on September 18, 2009)

I am 2 weeks post-op from the lap-band and I don't have any pain. After
surgery I was sore in the stomach and had plenty of shoulder gas that was
about it. I would suggest you contact your surgeon office just to make
sure that's normal.
I hope you feel better soon.

The first 2 weeks were difficult for me with gas, bloating and
abdominal/shoulder pain. I actually went to the ER
(waste of time)xray and labs normal. Called surgeon office and it was
normal. On day 10 it began to slowly improve and about 2weeks exactly I was
all good. Don't worry it will pass. As long as you are not vomitting, don't
have diarrhea and drink as much as you can (this was difficult for me
during the first 2 weeks due to bloating and gas).
