Same here so I feel ur pain :-)
6 years ago (Jan 2003) I had my Lap RNY. I weighed 230, I now weigh 118 and
NO ONE believes I weigh even 100#'s I eat like a pig and everyone knows it,
I'm just really small. I have to get on the scales and show my Momma that I
do indeed weigh more than 100#'s so she will stop worrying. I would really
like to be at about 130. My weight stays between 118 and 125 (125 around
"that time" even though I stopped having a "that time"
about a year after surgery due to the weight loss).
Just don't worry about what other think you weigh, you know what you weigh
& it's a good weight & as long as your healthy let em think it.
Congratulations on your new addition!!
Angela, Ms, Lap RNY Jan 2003, 230/118

I just had my RNY 2 Jun 2009 and will use you BOTH as my inspirations for
my future. I feel 20 again with my energy level. People are already calling
me skinny and I still have 60 pounds left to lose till I hit my goal weight
!!!!!
I cannot image what they will say when I acheive that one.....
Thank you for sharing your stories. It gives me hope for "my"
future.

What are you happy with? The only 2 things that matter is what do you want
and is it healthy and sustainable weight? All I can say is congradulatins
on maintaining your weight loss and be happy with all that you in control
off your weight.

I am a year and a half out from my RNY and am down to 160 pounds and I am
5'11. People say that I am too skinny and my doctor wants me to get to 150.
I think that would be too much. I have lost a total of 228 pounds.
People don't believe me either when I tell them I lost that much (people
who didn't know me when I was heavy). I keep loosing weight only because I
fear of gaining. SO when I read your post I know that I have hope that I
won't gain my weight back. I have had friends who had the surgery years
ago that gained everything back and more and it scares me to death. I am
glad that there are people out there who had the surgery years ago and are
doing great still. You are my inspiration for the future.

Hi! I am 13 months out, and have lost about 120 pounds. I was suppose to
stop losing around 127 and now am 115-118. I find it hard to maintain
because I have a hard time eating the calories needed every day. I do not
want to eat junk to get the calories in. But I am happy with my loss and
that I can eat almost anything I have tried. I do watch what I eat and try
to keep everything healthy. My daughter had the surgery this summer and she
doing great, but I am afraid she is one of the ones who wants to get back
to eating like before, and that will be trouble. I keep telling her to eat
like before is to gain weight. Take this time to re-evaluate your eating
habits and why you eat. I want everyone to be successful! Best of luck to
you all! hugs, kim

I will celebrate my 5 year RNY anniversary on August 4th! I have maintained
between 132lb & 136lb for the past 3 years. My lowest weight was 127
but just didn't feel right to me. The 132-136 seems to be an easy and
natural/healthy weight for me. Don't worry what other peope think or say,
only you know what is best for you. Being healthy/healthier is my priority.
At 5 years out, I still am aware of everything I eat and try-try-try to
take all my vitamins and supplements every day. I am far from perfect, but
I didn't take this drastic step to let a few setbacks give me a reason to
pack back on the pounds and start getting the weight related aches and
pains back.
Congratulations on all your milestones and prescious baby. Be happy and
healthy!! Best wishes, Patty M.

I am 4 years post-RNY, lost 115lbs. I am 5'6" and my body seems to be
comfortable at 140-143lbs. The only time my weight fluxuztes, is when it
was medication related, or I was extremely anemic. (body can't metabolize
waste efficiently and gains weight.) I am so happy. I still get mild
dumping - so glad that the tool is still there. I stay away from carbs like
bread, rice, pasta, cakes, cookies, etc. I stick to meat and veggies, take a
chewable multi-vit and iron everyday. I have NO REGRETS about my decision!!

I had RNY Feb 04, I am 122 lbs. I had cancer twice in the last year.
(Kidney in may 08 and Cervical May 09) My Oncologist Surgeon told me I had
ZERO Fat cells for cancer to spread to. So I would say being thin saved my
life not once but twice. I eat all day, anything I can tolerate. My
portions are baby size. But a few bites always satisfies me.I believe
people who gain there weight back are the ones doing protein shakes being
as they are made for body builders to bulk up not for people who had weight
loss surgery and are trying to lose. I can't gain more then the 5 lbs of
water weight. But I am not complaining.

I think people today are heavy. 20 to 40 pound at least as they get into
their 30's. They think anyone who is really at a healthy weight is too
skinny. at 160 you are not over thin and need to work on feeling good about
the new you.
I know I find it hard when people ask me if I ever had to worry about my
weight. I keep a before picture in my wallet, but an thinking maybe I
should just let it go. When I comment in a conversation on how hard it is
to eat rihgt on a diet they just look at me like I don't know what I am
talking about.
It feels so strange. I am working on acepting that I will be seen as the
skinny girl who eats like a bird. I think I could come to enjoy this.
