I am 8 weeks out from lap RNY and I eat a lot of seafood. I eat shrimp, scallops, salmon, tilapia. Chicken is still a little dry but the fish is no problem (and is high protein). I have played around with various ways to cook; blackened, baked, steamed. Walden Farms makes a no fat, no carb coctail sauce that I like even though it is a little thin in consistancy. For breakfast I use egg beaters, or Kroger Carbmasters yogurt. So far I am averageing just over 400 calories a day and 68-70grams of protein a day. Just remember to eat very slowly. These fish are soft but I can get in trouble if I forget to control my pace. Hope this helps. Kevin

at that stage I used to eat cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, seafood~ chewed very fine, yogurt, I would heat up v-8 juice and add a lil garlic and black pepper and it felt like food, but counted as liquid, smooshed up beans, like baked beans, Chew chew chew your food and wait the 5 minutes between bites. This is very important and painful if you don't do it. Rememebr to wait to drink until after an hour or whatever your clinic says to do. Soft foods at this stage and also try meat sticks for babies...I personally like the meat sticks not the chicken or turkey ones...they are great for protein and low sodium etc as they are for babies. Best of luck to you! hugs, Kim

I advanced myself slowly and stick to one new thing at a time to make sure you can tolerate it. Everyone is different on the foods they can tolerate. Go slowly. At four weeks I still felt swollen so it was still difficult to digest. I started to improve around 6 weeks. Flaky fish,(I love salmon), ground beef, chili, black beans, cottage cheese with fresh pineapple, chicken (has to be moist and chewed well). I am 3 months out and still have not even wanted to try steak( too much work). Just take it slow!
