Check with your surgeon. That is the best way to stay on track.

I knew that I had enough food when I could feel full and knew that if I
forced more food inside me, that I would either get it stuck or it would
just come back up. It took 4 times for me to get the right amount. I now
know that when I start to feel satisfied, I have to stop eating. Susan

It can take up to 7 fills to get enough restriction. It takes patience
& practice to learn the signs. I get a hic-cup when I am full. I have
learned to recognize when ir's coming & stop eating before I get it.
When you lose about 1-2 lbs a week you are at good restriction.

Maria - Understanding where the right fill for each person is misunderstood
a lot. Most people think that having the right fill is when their band has
a stranglehold on their stomaches and "makes them quit eating".
This is why so many people get into trouble.
The right fill is where when you eat the right food in the right amount you
feel "satisfied". Most of us have eaten pre-band to the point of
"I can't take another bite". This is NOT what you're looking
for. There are three reasons for not eating fast and they are 1)So you
don't get stuck/PB. 2) So your body can register when it's full. 3) So
you have time to read the signals that your body is sending you. I say
"read the signals" because as one other person said it could be a
small hic-up or it could be merely a sigh. They are subtle. If you get
one of those not so subtle signals, you've gone over the line. You will go
over the line while learning and no you probably won't do your band any
harm if you don't make it the norm.
The other part of a normal fill is that you can survive on a bandster
portion for 3 to 4 hours. You must keep track of your portions because if
you overeat you may last longer than 3 or 4 hours and if you undereat you
may not last that long. In the beginning it's good to chart these things.
Also, if you're keeping track you'll know if you're eating dense protein
which will make a difference too.
I hope this helps. Email me at [email protected] if you want to.
