Maybe you should visit the Yahoo group "Cignasqueekywheels" it's
for WLS folks with Cigna insurance. There is alot of advice/experience on
there with all forms of Cigna. I am now just at the insurance approval
phase (I have Cigna HMO in Florida). Everyone says I have a good chance at
approval the first request because I have completed my 6 month PCP diet
plan (with documentation of diet, weight, exercise, and nutrition plan with
monthly visits), I have a yearly doctor note with my weight listed for the
past 5 yrs., Psych. eval, Nutritional eval., and MRI of my knees confirming
arthritis, and history notes confirming my high blood pressure. (My BMI is
57) My surgeon and Primary care doctors are submitting a recommendation
for the surgery, as well as my own letter. I have learned from others that
it seems to be a "crap-shoot" on whether you are approved the
first try, but most everyone who persists through the 2nd. and even third
tries gets approved (but your chances are MUCH better if you complete ALL
of the requirements as completely as possible!)

Yes, I just had surgery Dec 26, 2007 the day after christmas. I also had
Cigna PPO Arizona. I was not approved the first time because i had not
finish all the required diet and excerise requirements. My Dr office
submitted the request a second time on Oct 30, and it was approved Nov 8.
Good luck Cigna wasn't so bad
