Question:
less than 3 weeks post op
I feel stuck in a rut already...hard to "cook" 1.5 ounces so I end up with too much and eat it over and over...already I am feeling upset and lost with this diet. Anyone have any suggestions? — nmydream (posted on August 30, 2007)

Debbie, Hang in there. Things will get much much easier. I promise.
Maybe try freezing some of what you make so that you can have it a few days
later or a week later. Then you can build up a small storage of food for
lunches at work or on the go. Malena 329/150

What Malena said :)
Have you bought some little containers or do you have on hand some good
quality baggies? Put only on a small plate what you should eat for that
meal and immediately, before sitting down to enjoy your meal, package and
freeze the remainder. This way you can cook the whole chicken breast (or
whatever it is), eat only the 1.5 ounces, and have plenty of other meals
ready to go.
So don't give up. Take a big breath...this is entirely doable for you!

I am also 3 weeks post op and am having no trouble. You should be trying
new foods on the third stage diet by now. Tuna with light mayo on crackers,
a little grated or string cheese. a slice of turkey lunch meat from the
deli. mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, white fish, shrimp, mashed fruit,
cottage cheese, watermellon. I am buying more prepared foods tthen I ever
have and spending more money, but it is just for me and I have decided I am
worth it. My problem is I have so many choices I don't know what to choose.
I go out to dinner and lunch now and then and split something with my
friend. She eats almost the whole thing and I have variety. She is
wonderful at ordering anything I can eat and sharing. We take turns
payiing, that's just fare. try it. Good luck
