Question:
what otc pain meds can I take
I have facial pain due to wacking a wake board with my face. The doctor at the Urgent Care said over the counter meds, like asprin, I remember I can't take them. What can I take? — dasloaf (posted on July 17, 2006)

you should take tylenol only. One of the main ingrediants ( I cant
remember which one and probably could not spell it if I could) in asprin,
goody powders, advil, aleve motrin etc will cause ulcers. I was told by my
surgeon and dietician to only take tylenol products for pain , sinus, cold,
flu etc...
Good Luck!

along with what the other post says, depending on how far post op you are,
if you are new, I would recommend either chewables or liquid. If you're at
least a couple months out then you'd be okay to use pill form, but yeah,
only tylenol is recommended.

Due to the removal of some of the prescription medications for pain by
doctor said tylenol for pain but due to PMS stated I could take advil. It
could only be for a couple of days at a time and only the recommended dose.
I would call your doctor and see if whacking your face qualifies for night
time use.

Extra Strength Tylenol Liquid is what I took after I came home from the
hospital. The pharmacy my perscription was called into was closed when I
came home so I had to make it through the weekend. Good Luck!
