I also have PCOS and I don't have Diabetes yet, however my insulin levels
are throught the roof. I have a consult with a doctor for Roux-n-Y surgery
on february 14th. 06. I think you need to go to a seminar speak with a
physician. I definately think you will get approved. You definatly meet
the guidelines according to the NHS ( National Health Society). Go for it!
If you have finacial concerns, contact your insurance provider and see what
they will pay for, Mine will only pay 80% of the surgery, your doctors
office should handle to processing and all of that info.

yes ma'am, your comorbidities all would help you qualify. I had
everything on your list except the ovarian cancer (I did have cervical
cancer years ago). Of course it all depends on what your insurance needs
to approve you. Are there any exclusions on your policy. Do they require
diet history? Start by asking your PCP for a referral to a surgeon in your
area. All my conditions are much improved thanks to WLS. Good Luck!

I suppose it all depends on your insurance, but Blue Cross approved mine
last May. I have PCOS and had the back and knee pain. I wasn't diabetic yet
but my doctor said my levels were high enough that if I didn't make changes
I would be soon. I had my surgery last May and lost about 150 pounds. It
was the best thing I've ever done. I feel so much better. So I say go for
it. If they tell you no, appeal it. Do whatever it takes if this is what
you want. Best wishes for health and happiness always.

I think you should qualify with out a doubt as long as your insurance
approves of weight-loss surgery. I had open rny in May04 and my BMI was
46.5. I started out at 265 (I am 5'3) and wearing a size 22/24 and I now
way 139 and I am in a size 6. I did not have any serious co-borbidities and
this was the best decision ever. I wish you the best of luck .
