Question:
Any Suggestion on loosing TEN Pounds?
I have been stuck, it seems like, forever at my 265 weight. I need to be at 255 for obtaining my surgery date. Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Does eating like you already have had surgery work? — sor09 (posted on December 30, 2005)

I am not an expert but the week before my surgery I cut out all cokes of
any kind and drank only water and crystal lite. I also reduced my intake of
food. Then two days before my surgery I was on liquids only. I dropped 10
pounds doing that. I truely believe though cuting out all diet sodas was a
major factor since I drank at least 6 or more pre day. Hope this helps.
Good luck and God bless.

This diet is a 600-800 cal/day diet consisting of lean meats and veggies,
with little carbs, it maximizes fat breakdown without losing lean muscle
mass, fat is used as energy and the small amount of protein saves the lean
tissue in the body :spares it". Diet is VERY limited and you may only
have 1-2 bowel movements a week. EAT ALL Allowed veggies for bulk! Only to
be used for short periods of time (1 mo or so)....You will be inketosis on
this diet so drink plenty of fluids to flush wastes out! You may notice
sweet fruity breath, this is normal, it is the body's way of blowing of
some ketones....
Good luck! This was taken directly from the clinical nutritionist!

If you write me privately, I can send you a pre-op plan that might help
push you over that hump.

Sonya, I had to lose weight pre-op to...my surgeon put me on a lean meat
(turkey, chicken, beef, seafood, lean deli meat) and green leafy vegetables
(broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, cucumber, spinach, brussel sprouts,
squash), I lost 16 lbs in 5 weeks....cut out all caffiene, etc. A liquid
diet will also work wonders...Good Luck, Dana

We have on doctor that makes his patients go on a clear liquid diet for 2
weeks before surgery. Their typical weight loss is 18 pounds. You could try
that, if your doctor says it is okay for you.

One day before I went to get weighed in before surgery I didn't eat at all
and lost like 3 pounds. I know its not the smart thing to do but I was
desperate cause I had to loose weight too before surgery.
