Rhonda, sweetheart, we have pain for a reason, to tell us that something is
wrong. IF you are having such significant pain, you need to call your doc,
not tomorrow, but now. Be safe, he will probably send you to the emergency
room to have the hernia " reduced" if they can (that is where
they basically try to massage it back into place). That means puting it
back where it belongs to stop the pain. IF it can not be reduced in the
emergency room, then you may need urgent surgery. You do not want to do
damage to your intestines, you do not need that. So PLEASE!! CALL YOUR
DOCTOR!!!

ON NOVEMBER THE 2ND IT WAS A YEAR SINCE MY OPEN R.N.Y., I REACHED MY GOAL
IN AUGUST, I LOST 240 POUNDS.. I WENT IN MID OCTOBER TO SET UP AN
APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY PANIS REMOVED AND THE SURGEON SAW THE LARGE LUMP
NEAR MY R.N.Y. SCAR. HE ASKED HOW LONG THAT WAS THERE AND I SAID A FEW
MONTHS.. HE TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD STOMACH HERNIA AND NEEDED FIXED AT SOON AS
POSSIBLE.. HAD IT DONE HALLOWEEN DAY IN A 4 HOUR SURGERY. (WAS SUPPOSED TO
BE 2) HE DID IT LAP, AND HE PUT IN A SCREEN TO HOLD EVERYTHING IN.. YOU
ASKED ABOUT HOW IT FELT.. IT HURT A LITTLE, BUT WHEN I COUGHED IT HURT A
LOT. I HAD TO HOLD MY STOMACH TO COUGH OR MY STOMACH BALLOONED OUT FILLING
UP WITH AIR.. AND I WAS GETTING WEAKER AND WEAKER. TOWARDS THE LAST DAYS I
EVEN HAD A HARD TIME BREATHING.. SO THIS ISN'T ANYTHING TO FOOL WITH.. I
ASKED MY SURGEON IF HE COULD REMOVE THE PANIS AT THE SAME TIME AND HE TOLD
ME HAVING THE PANIS REMOVED WAS UNIMPORTANT, BUT THE HERNIA WAS.. SO IN FEB
I'LL GO BACK FOR THE PANIS REMOVAL.. BUT AN UNTREATED HERNIA CAN KILL, SO
I'D RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY.. GET IT DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.. GOOD LUCK

I had a hernia that I had to wait also for surgery. My original bypass was
a disaster. Had 6 surgeries within first 3 weeks postop leaving my
intestine non-attached to my new pouch. I developed a large hernia right
away. I was comatose for 3 wks and once I woke up I was too sick inside me
for anymore surgeries. I could not eat or drink for a year. Had to hook up
to IV nutrition every nite for 12 hrs for entire year. Hernia kept getting
larger and pain was incredible. Felt like a strong pulling and like it was
ripping my insides. It buldged out so much and was about the size of a
small orange. Had to wear a binder pulled very tight entire year as well
and that helped some. But surgeon would not operate until I was one yr
postop because everything inside was still too tender and like tissue paper
which could rip so easily. So I had to bear it for a year. Make sure not to
do any lifting over 5 lbs if possible or it will just keep getting worse
fast. By the end of my year I was on 36 caps of OxyIr daily and 2-100mcg
patches of Fentenyl. Now I also had large wound pain that whole yr as well
but the hernia was bad. Good luck to you.
