A Bari bed is a bed that controls move to allow you to come to a complete
sitting position, feet to the floor. It was my best friend while I was
recovering in the hospital, the feet go all the way down to the floor and
the back comes up far enough to accomidate you just like you are sitting in
a REALLY big chair.. and they're better "fitted" for the larger
person.

Not only did the bed I had turn into a "chair", it also could put
me into a standing position, all I had to do was step off the foot rests
and I was up and walking. It was a huge help.

There are at least two that I know of.... BariMax and BariCare. The
BariMax actually is the better for right after surgery. The feet lower all
the way.. then the head come up and you step out of bed. I had the
Baricare and it never showed up until night number 3. It is wider, more
solid and sits up straighter than a regular hospital bed. If I had to do
it all over again.. I would have the BariMax straight out of surgery.
Makes getting out of bed soo much better... It is soo worth it.. and it
did not cost me anything extra!
