I use a CPAP machine plus an oxygen extractor. I have had no pain other
than my normal aches and pains. The only problem I have is keeping that
darned mask on all night. I pull it off in my sleep and throw it in the
floor. If you think the CPAP is the cause of your pain, I would suggest you
call your sleep doctor and explain. Maybe he/she can suggest something.

My BI Pap setting was 17 and I never tolerated it and told my surgeon this
during the final pre op visit. With high pressures such as ours there is a
remote danger of the cpap inflating our intestines and causing a leak. Its
rare but can be a very severe complication. Doctor Schauer put me on a
higher flow of oxygen with a pulse ox monitor and the bi pap stayed in the
closaet. A HUGH relief to me. I had a oxygen flow of 4 or so rather than 2.
Its was safer and much more comfortable. Be SURE to mention inflated
intestines danger to your surgeon. Congrats on surgery soon you too will be
starting your new life and have a new birthday to celebrate. My bi pap gave
me severe headaches, runny nose, acid reflux from the runny nose, and wierd
chest pains. Besides it was SO uncomfortable. If anyone wants the thing
drop me a line and I will be happy to mail it to you.
