Question:
I need some support from peers. Are you guys out there?
I am looking for some peers to e-mail for support and talk. I am 22, married, have 2 children, and I will be having surgery in June. My hubby is supportive, loving, and caring, but he is military and gone a lot. Plus I need a girl's point of view sometimes. I have friends, but it's not same. None of them are or have been obese. I guess I am looking for friends to talk to about this. This site has been very helpful but I need a real person (not just profiles) to talk and ask questions too. I've tryed the chat room but I feel unwanted there. As my date is approaching I am getting more and more nervous and scard. If anybody out there can understand me please post me a message or send me an e-mail, I would appreciate knowing that I am not the only one who feels lonely, scard, and just plain wierded out. — jsaquino (posted on May 5, 2001)

surgery or going to have this surgery has at one point felt like they were
out there "weirded out"...but, we are all here to support one
another..*even in the Chat room..hahaha..I just can't keep up myself*. God
bless and keep you...love, Terri

Jessica, I also would be more than happy to correspond with you. I'm a bit
older than you (35 with a 14 and 11 year old kids), I've had not one but
two surgeries (VBG in 97 and RNY in 00) and have learned a lot over the
years about WLS. You may want someone closer to your age and closer in
surgery dates to sort of compare notes but if you ever need advice on
anything feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] and I will be
happy to respond. Good luck sweetie!

It's ok, I'm still at the beginning stage of hoping to have surgery. I'm
50 with a daughter 12. But, I'm a young 50. You can email me anytime at
[email protected]. I'm not crazy about chat rooms also, I feel the same
way. My BMI is 61. If it were not for help on this site I would feel very
alone. We are out here to help! email me. Karen Renee

Here's another. I'm 6.5 yrs out. Have had 2 surgeries, original and
revision. And my husband has been done, as well. I'm WAY older, but I am
still female, so perhaps I have perspective? [email protected]

Hey there,
I know exactly what you are talking about. I was lucky enough to meet some
local people thru the peer area of this web site and also via the yahoo WLS
clubs. I am a 32yo female, married, with a 3 1/2yo daughter. I had my
surgery 4/19/01. My husband was mostly supportive, just scared that
something might happen to me. Feel free to email me direct @
[email protected].

I understand what you are going through...I am 23 years old, married, and
the mother of 2 beautiful children. My surgery date is July 9 and I am also
a bit nervous. I would love to chat with you. I love all of these wonderful
ladies here, but to actually talk to someone your age is really helpful.
Good Luck!
