Question:
10 YRS OUT... 5 day pouch test... Can it still work for me?
Hi, I'm 10 years out and still struggle with weight and never lost as much as I anticipated with RNY. I went from 290 to 230 way back then and gained back to weight of 260 over the course of the years until the first of 2013. Then this year (2013) on my own terms and rigorous exercise, I lost down to 214. Once I got off track the end of this year, I'm back up to 230+. After this long, if I were to try the pouch test, is it possible that I can shrink my pouch again or am I too far out? I know I can eat wayyy more than at first, actually I can eat just as much as anyone that hasn't had surgery. So is it still possible to get good restriction? My ideal weight is 190. I'm female but I have a solid woman build and this weight would make me a size 12, which is ideal for me. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL RESPONSES, ADVICE, and ENCOURAGEMENT! I just can't give up even after all of this time. I still look good...I want to look and feel better! :):):) — MaLew (posted on December 29, 2013)

Well I guess I am a old timer here my surgery back in july 2001. Thats a
long time........
Anyhow I became a grazer and started gaining serios weight. I ended up at
245:( still way better than 313 my pre op weight but still not good....
I went back to basics and am down to 226.:(
me and jen divorced some time ago, and my now wife /girl friend could
really use WLS, she has numerous health troubles, I am trying to be a good
example to her:) so far my dropping weight has mostly made her mad.
