A couple of things. Please be patient with yourself. Plateaus are soooo normal. We all go through them. Mine have been known to last for 2 months. Keep up following the dietician/nutritionist guidlines for your eating plan. Many times, we're losing inches while staying the same weight. Are your clothes feeling looser? Rings getting bigger? As I said, please be patient. Our bodies need to play catch up every so often.

Well good morning, thought that I would put in my two cents worth here. I was like you and got frustrated over the plateau periods. I currently am just comming out of a 6 month one but to encourage you I lost 10 inches during that time. Yes even though the scale did not show any weight loss. My doctor said to keep eating what was allowed on my eating plan and stop stressing. This is not about how fast we loose but how safely. Remember you did not get "FAT" over night it took a year or mor so keeping that in mind it will come of the very same way.Like you I am frustrated wit the plateaus to say the least. I was operated for RNY on Feb 11 2010 and as of to date I have lost 109lbs from surgery date and 60 on my own before that. I still weigh 210LBS and need to get down to 178 according to the origional consulation. That is still 32LBS to go. and let me tell you it is V-E-R-Y- S-L-O-W ! When I asked the doctor ow much longer it would take she said simply that it could take up to 2 more years depending on my body and my willingness to stick to the eating plan. She encouraged me to think in a different manner than what frame of mind 9LIKE ou) that I had. She said this is for the rest of my life so don't be in the frame of mind to rush and get it over. It will happen when it happens. . But also to let you know that she feels that I have done extreemly wel to this point with no weight gain a all. She said live my life to the fullest and enjoy life and not to worry so much about the weight anymore. My life style change is that, for a life time.I might add here that I am now going to be 49 in December down from a size 62 to size large for the bottoms and med for tops in general. For me the hips are what I need to get gone. But I seem to be pear shaped naturaly as the doctor says triangle. wide hip bones. I can see my hip bones when I lay down so apparently it is so. LOL Keep you chin up kiddo! You will have the down moments but keep in mind that it is normal not to be able to look in the mirror and see the thinner you. I still look first in the "FAT" section of clothing stores first and then rlize that HECK NOTHING FITS!!! All Look like tents on me now. I can't look in a mirror and see the weight change except in my face but when I look at pictures of a year ago and now there is a pardon the pun HUGE differance. Keep in touch and let us all know how you are doing. remember every plateau brings results. Tighter, smoother skin. YOUR CANADIAN FRIEND

Keep following the rules I just came of a 3 week plateau I found that as long as I follow the rules everyday I don't worry about it. And don't weigh yourself everyday while On a plateau it just makes it worse. Only once a week Less stress. Cause stress can inhibit weight loss This is a journey not a race. Enjoy the journey !

A plateau is just a number; with eating right and getting exercise your body continues to get healthier. Just keep doing the "next right thing" and you'll see improvement. Don't give up hope!
