Question:
Who qualifies for a revision?
I had the gastric bypass about 16 months ago. I've only lost 100 LBS. I still have another 100 to go. I'm miserable and still struggling with my weight. I feel like the surgery was a waiste of money. I can't lose anymore weight. I'm begging for mercy! Someone, anyone have suggestions or answers. Please Help! Thank you. — Rose_M (posted on April 10, 2010)

First of all my dear....RELAX! The worst thing you can do right now is
panic. Look at how far you've already come. 100 pounds!! That is ABSOLUTELY
AMAZING! You don't have to be in a hurry. There's no rush to losing weight
since you now have a lifestyle that you should be living for the rest of
your life. So just stop and take a step back and review what you're doing
daily. Here are the questions I would ask myself...First are you eating all
your protein daily? Protein will aid in making you not so hungry. Are you
drinking all your fluids? 64 ounces AT LEAST. Are you exercising? I know
when I don't exercise my weight loss stops COMPLETELY!! Are you writing
down EVERYTHING you put in your mouth!! Even a crust of bread can put
anywhere from 1 to 4 pounds on me when it's eaten out of my plan. If you're
doing all these things, then I would suggest talking to your NUT about what
you can change to help you along the way.

I read your profile. I think you should also consider counseling to help
you deal with these feelings. You've lost an incredible amount of weight
already. It's not going to all come off in just one year. You CAN still
lose more weight. Your tool is not broken. Perhaps you just need to tune it
up a bit. That's where counseling and seeing a nutritionist who specializes
in weight loss patients can help you achieve your goal. Check back with
your surgeon's office and get a recommendation. If you don't have an
exercise plan, seek out a gym. You CAN do this. HUGS - Pat
