Question:
30 days out-GOT WINE?
How long did u wait to have ur first alcoholic beverage? Is it too soon for me to have a supervised glass of wine? — Duke007 (posted on January 30, 2010)

YES!!! I was told to wait at least 6 months. I did and took a couple of
sips of alcohol and was tipsy. I don't like feeling out of control so that
did it for me. One thing that people need to be careful of is addiction
transfer. Can't eat anymore so start drinking, drugs, etc. Just be
careful, but it is way too early to have any kind of alcohol.

You are not to consume alcohol at all after surgery.A small amount will
bring you over the limit because of the size of your stomach. Will go right
through you. You will be "hung over". Saw someone who had one
drink of beer & was drunk as a skunk.

i would say wait a few months at least again everybody is different for me
it does tend to get me drunk quicker but just as quick i sober up and as
far as my stomach i have not had any ill effects i usually have a glass or
two when im cooking because i use a lot of wine and liquor in my recipes

I'd wait a little more. It will hit you quick, so don't drive, even with
one drink. I am a few years post op. I mix a little wine with diet (sprite,
7up)soda and orange juice and plenty of ice.

My surgeon said no alcohol until at least one year post op.

I think I heard 6-12 months out if you just have to have a some. I am only
4 months out and have had a glass of wine recently. I would recommend no
driving and make sure you don't over do it. I can't tell if I am tipsy
sooner because it didn't take much before I had surgery. Good luck

Absolutely too soon! My surgeon requires you wait 12 months to have
alcohol. Besides the empty calories, most alcohol contains waayyy to much
sugar. In addition, the change in your digestive tract will make the
absorption of the alcohol very fast. I'm 6 months out and haven't even
considered having alcohol.

My question is; Do you really need it? Alcholol does nothing for you and
has so manny calories that it is't worth it.
