4 lbs 6 wks after surgery doesn't sound right to me. You might want to
follow up with your physician. Have you discussed this with him and if so
what has he said?

Alot of things are going on with your body. You are healing from a major
surgery. Your whole system, digestive, absorption, metabolism, and
adjusting to all the new things going on. I lost about 18lbs preop. I
gained in the hospital 12 lbs from the IV fluids that were given to me
postop. I had lost at my 3 week postop the 12 lbs that I had gained and was
back at my preop surgery weight. I have had 4 stalls. each lasting
everywhere from 2-4 weeks. and then 4-5 lbs would be gone. I am 4 months
out on the 29th of Oct. I have now lost 55 lbs. Dont fret if you lose slow
and then notice a 5-10 pound drop. Also dont weigh yourself every day. I
did that and had to finally put the scale away. I lost 3 pounds in Sept.
But it will come off. Just keep your food intake what the doctor has told
you to do. Drink your water and start a exercise routine. talk to the
dietician in your doctor office and let them help you with this. I am sure
in a few months you will feel alot better. Also, alot depends on how much
you have to lose(I am a light weight so they say with only 110 lbs I had to
lose). And if you have any other underlying issues or conditions that cause
fluid retention, etc. I hope this helps. Dont get discouraged. All the
things you are feeling and sensing and thinking about are normal. just keep
in contact with others and ask questions. I love this site. I still come on
most days and look at all the questions and it helps alot. We all have one
thing in common. The reason to change our lives for the better. I wish you
the best!
