Question:
I have severe shoulder pain on the my left side is this normal?

I am one week post op land band and I went back to work today. On my way home I got this really bad pain in my shoulder that hasn't gone way. Does anyone recall having that pain and why it might happen?    — Lina05 (posted on June 15, 2009)

It could be trapped gas that has crawled up to your shoulder. That happens to me and I an a year out.... still just walk.

I had severe pain for about two weeks post op and the nurse told me it could be due to the way I was sleeping (upright) as to get out of bed easier. Once I healed more and more and was sleeping in a better position, it went away. Good luck.

I had it forever and had a vbg in 2002. I was told by the surgeon that it was due to too much food in the pouch. From time to time i still get it but not as much.
