Question:
Has Anyone Tried The 5 Day Pouch Test?!?
Today is day #1 for me on the 5 day pouch test. Im really hoping that this works and helps me to stop snacking and get my head back on straight. What are your opinions about the test? — LauraMarie (posted on May 27, 2009)

I have tried this test before and it really works. You have to be
determined because the first two days are rough at first. Good Luck.

It got me back on track a few years ago when I had begun eating too many
simple carbs regularly during a long winter holiday (away from home and my
own kitchen and pantry)I was addicted to peppermint patties! It was
terrible! LOL I cannot even look at them now! And bread with butter...It
goes down with butter! BAD BAD BAD! ...It made a HUGE difference for my
pouch which was a grumpy and gassy, hungry, unsatisfied "carb
monster" from all the simple sugars and drinking with my meals, not
taking my vitamins, over eating, grazing on food all day...I became
malnourished AND STILL gained 10 lbs because of this month long binge I was
on...I went on to lose those 10 pounds that I gained because of being
"off track" and the 5DPT is the reason. It really saved me by
getting me back to the basics! I sound like a commercial, but it REALLY
worked for me...I didn't lose the 10 pounds on the 5 DPT...It's not a
diet...I lost it afterwards once I got back on track and then began logging
my food in a journal and keeping tab of everything I ate...I cut about
300-500 calories a day and went on to lose those 10 lbs in a few
months...It took me a while because I was not allow to exercise due to
anemia and fear of heartattack during that time...So I had to rely solely
on reduced calories without exercise and it was hard! Once I was well
again...I was able to exercise and eat right and could add back many more
calories again which I chose well with protein and complex carbs only for
quite a while before I began slowly adding some things back in
moderation...I do not drink with meals anymore and I have maintained that
10 pounds lost after gaining it.Plus most of my labs are improved greatly
and no more anemia with proper vitamin therapy...So I really swear by the
5DPT...It gave me back restriction and allowed me to differenciate between
head hunger and real hunger as well as that "urgent" hunger you
get from simple carbs and drinking with your meals...HUGE difference! Good
luck..Stick to it and pay close attention to your pouch feelings...It's
nice to FEEL the pouch again when you eat and feel peace and calmness
inside when you are not eating... after feeling nothing but hunger and gas
all the time!
