I was fine on my own just very tired. It is nice if someone is around the first couple days to help out

I came home on Saturday. My husband went to work on Monday, I was fine. If I had come home on a workday, I think I would have liked some help getting set up in the house, but after that, I would have been fine. That first day home takes a bit out of you, so having someone around at least for that is helpful.

I didnt have anyone with me. I had friends come over and check on me or available if I need something I could lift or get something from the store. Sure it would have been easier to have someone here, but I think it forced me to get up and move more. Good luck to you.

It was very nice to have my hubby at my becon call...tables were turned and I loved it...he is medically retired but he was able to do everything for me...and that was nice. I think it is a great idea if you can have someone for the first couple days.

You don't have to have someone with you but it is recommended that someone check on you for the first 48 hours. That is what friends and family are for. Good luck and God Bless, vinnigirl, retired RN

Nope. I went home and had to take care of my two year old by myself. You will be fine. The surgery was a breeze.

You don't have to have anyone, but it sure is nice! I am 5 weeks out and credit my friends and family with my wonderful recovery. It was a bit overwhelming to make such drastic changes, so my support team kept my regime up for me, handing me my fluids on a regular basis. Two heads are better than one in this instance--I think I was in a bit of a shock-like trance. Having company keep my spirts up and make sure I was sleeping and exercising made the time go by much happier and meaningful. I will never forget my great team that has gotten me through this so far. I call my great friend Andrea, "Nurse Ratchet". She kept everyone on their toes and I healed beautifully because of it! Don't turn down your loved ones who want to help you. You will be grateful for their company and love! It made for special memories!

I went to Mexico on Thursday and came home on Monday alone to a home with 21 yr old son who is no help for anyhting. From get go I am doing all I am used to as I am very independent and not 'used to' having anyone else to depend on. Had no travel issues and have had no doing it alone issues. Good luck! PS I am home day 9 now.
