I had lap band on 4-16-08 and I am down 58 pounds and lots on inches. I am very happy with this results but my surgeon told me that everyone is different and we lose it differently. Some loses inches first then the weight others just the weight then others loses both. I was told by my surgeon that he would be satisfied with me losing 70 pounds the first year, due to my medications and my health history, but things are working out better than we thought I would do. Just listen to your body. The weight will come off, just give it a chance and look for Non Scale Victories (NSV) loose clothes, loose rings, loose shoes, being able to cross your legs, just little things that you don't pay attention too.

I had surgery on june 19 and have lost 54 lbs since surgery and I AM happy! when have I ever lost 54 pounds in 3+ months..never! I am a slow loser...I know this..I had 110 pounds to lose..and I am half way there. It really depends on how much you have to lose. People who have 100 pounds to lose may lose slower than a person who has 200+ to lose. It took us years to put on...Plus,...losing slower allows us time to exercise and tighten skin! Good deal! I was losing even slower..but a conference with my nutritionist and the realization that I wasn't eating enough calories for my body to let go of the fat and now I am losing a bit faster. I go to curves 4 times a week for an hour and walk for 45-60 minutes a day. Its all good! Good luck to you all and have patience...it will come off.

Too often people focus on the amount of weight or inches lost. Remember this is a new lifestyle, you must follow the directions given by your surgeon and nut...The main focus should be on developing healthy habits. The weight will come off if you are following your directions. Protein first, chew, chew, chew....lots of water.. If you do not stick to these basic guidelines then you may not be as successful as others. I had surgery 8/28/08 and I have lost 43 lbs and 46.75 inches, so it's not fast, but I didn't put all this weight on in 3 months, so it's not all going to come off in 3 months either. Good luck.

I have heard that there are some people who do not lose very well or at all...but I have not ever seen or spoken to any one of these mystical creatures...MOST people lose 100 lbs in one year. Slow weight loss is actually BETTER for the person losing ...(although it is not nearly as exciting, I admit) But slower is better...and if you are losing some...It is better than none...

I was banded on 6/17/08 and have only lost 20 pounds. I have 6cc's in a 9cc band. I started off doing everything as directed and gained ten pounds while doing so. I gained the weight once I started eating solid food. I have since then quit out of frustration slipped back to my normal eating habits which is quite frustrating. I go for my third fill today and I hope to get some restriction so that I can get some motivation because if I was a good dieter, then there would have been no need to have surgery.

I had surgery on 11/19/2007. I am down exactly 100 lbs. I wanted to lose more but I realize that it will take some time. I am trying my best to get under the 200lb mark. I am 203 right now. I work out and try to eat very healthy. If Ido crave anything sweet, i will eat a 100 calorie snack and feel very satisfied. Just take your time. Eat right, exercise and it will come off. I rmember complaining to my doc in the beginning about not loosing as much and he told me that he is happier and it is healthier if it comes off slower. He explained that when it comes off a bit slower, the results are long lasting. I sometimes, think, this time last year, i was in a 24-26W. Now, I am in a 14. I am soooooo Happy! I feel like I have a 2nd chance at life.

I lost 60 lbs in 6 months (30 of those lbs were lost in the first month) and I haven't lost anymore. That's been four years ago. I had RNY.
