First you might notice wounds that don't heal...fluids building up in hands
and feet and belly too...tired/lethargic...loss of muscle mass...and later
from lack of protein, you'll become iron and B-12 deficient (from lack of
animal protein, where these vits are mostly gotten naturally)...Just take a
look at starving children and that's what a protein def looks like...Can it
happen to us after RNY...yes, but probably not on that level, because we
have such a wide variety of food supplements and vitamin fortified foods,
you'd have to work hard at not eating to nearly starve yourself for a long
time to the point it becomes physically noticeable. We all need protein
daily...We have access to fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, grains, beans,
meats, protein supps, etc...Eating a variety of these foods daily will give
you the complete protein we need daily...You MUST have some protein
everyday to stay healthy. The human body only makes about half the needed
amino/proteins to survive, but it needs the key aminos to make the complete
protein...Once you get all the key aminos, they combine and make the rest in
your body. These aminos help you entire body function...everything from
cell production, to muscles (heart and brain are muscles too) to organ
functions, to healing, etc! Don't skip protein...Find a way to get it in
daily. Some is better than none. You just need to get the key aminos so
your body can make the complete chain. Protein powders and drinks are
usually fortified with at least the 13 needed aminos...many have 18
aminos...Your body will make 21 making all the aminos into a complete
protein everyday.

Your body uses your muscle mass for nourishment, which can effect major
muscles as well like the heart. You will feel weak and tired. Your hair
will fall out, and your skin suffers too. Don't do it. you need between
60-70 grams for optimum success and health!
