NO....It is calcium carbonate. When reading about ingredients in a calcium
product...It MUST say in certain terms "Calcium
Citrate"...However, even that info is not enough...To know that you
are getting 400-500 mg of calcium citrate it must MUST say 500 mg
"as" cc....Or 4
500 mg "from" calcium citrate This way you KNOW you are getting a
full 400-500 mg of elemental calcium from/as Citrate. Labels can be sneaky
an tricky....Another thing to watch is the Vit D...As an RNYer, you must
have Vit D3 ....RNYer's do not absorb the fat soluable Vit D. Vit D3 is a
"dry" powder form of Vit D that is absorbable. You canot absorb
any calcium without Vit D. (That's why all milk is fortified with Vit
D)...If ever you come across a label that just say calcium and Vit
D...DON'T buy it....Get your money's worth and get the RIGHT stuff....or
you will be robbing your pocket and your teeth and bones at the same time!
Also, Calcium Citrate is a much larger/denser foorm of calcium and that's
why those Twinlabs wafers are so big...We only (everyone, inclding reg
people) only absorb 400-500 MAX of calcium at once...That is why you need
to take it at least twice a day, and at least two hours apart. If you are
prone to low calcium you need to take it three times a day...It's quite
expensive...but when your teeth start to crumble, and your bones start to
break.... there's not turning back...Get calcium Citrate and take 1000mg
daily at the MINIMUM....
I take Twinlabs Calcium Citrate Wafers or Bariatric Advantage...I take
extra Vit D3 because I am personally a little low on Vit D...as almost half
of America....

Try a powerful "liquid" vitamin / mineral supplement like VEMMA.
It has 1000 IU of vit. D3. Liquids will begin to absorb right away in
your mouth. Go to www.TrySomeVemma.com
