Question:
with the lapband do your acid reflux get better or worse

Hi Barbara,
I had lapband surgery on 5/21 and havent had to take prevacid at all since
then. In fact, I gave a large box of it to my son. I hope this helps.

Mine was gone about 2 months after surgery. I didn't have a real bad case
of reflux but would wake up at night due to it. I haven't had a problem

Do you have a hiatal hernia in need of repair? If so, that should cure the
problem.
Along with the band and the weight loss, the reflux should get much better
if not go away completely.
The only time I have reflux is if my band is too tight and I need a little
unfill.

surgery.

I used to have terrible heartburn and reflux. The doctor said I had a small
hiatal hernia but not enough to have surgical repair. Since I was banded on
12/18/07 and haven't had any reflux since the surgery.

Acid Reflux should decrease with time........just try not to eat after 7
p.m. that will help alot and chose your food wisely and chew your food to
mush........don't drink with your meals.....

I had acid reflux so bad that I had to sleep sitting up against a pillow.
When I had GB-RNY, my acid reflux stopped immediately. I'm 4.5 years post
op and have never had a problem with it since the surgery. Good Luck!
