I haven't yet, but am scheduled for July 25 with Dr. Alvarez. Check out the
VSG forum.

OMG...SOOO many people, including myself, have had VSG. There is a forum
listed that you can go on and read all day about the surgery. VSG is an
awesome TOOL to have. But it, just like all the rest, is a tool. As far as
insurance, there are some that do and a lot that don't from what I have
learned. VSG is one of the newer procedures that many insurance companies
haven't started paying for. Too new for them. I have had two different
doctors tell me that more and more people are going with VSG now. Good luck
with your decision.

I think VSG is one of the most exciting surgical options emerging right
now! The results are excellent for the appropriate surgical candidate!
My son had VSG done just over a year ago and the results have been
phenomenal. We couldn't be happier for him.
My husband and I are both DS post-ops and felt strongly that VSG was the
best option for our son. It has been exciting to see what a positive
result he has been blessed with!
Some insurance companies do, in fact, cover VSG. You will need to contact
your insurance provider and determine if the coverage you have is inclusive
for this procedure.
Blessings,

Not every insurance pays for this surgery. Go to www.ask.com and ask about
what type of insurance pays for the gastric sleeve surgery. It lists all of
them.

I had VSG and so glad I did. It is a wonderful tool. My insurance was
100% coverage (BS/BC PPO). Good luck.

I had the sleeve on February 13, 2008. I had to pay for it, I hope I can
keep it off. My total bill was $21,000.
So far, I have lost 60 pounds.
