LOL!!! You'd better get used to it. You lost your "winter
coat". LOL!!! I am always freezing. Amazing what happens when you
lose 100 pounds.

I'm cold a lot too...doesn't help that it's winter. I just snuggle under a
blanket a lot on the couch.
I think the reason is less food intake means your body has less energy to
burn to keep your body warm.
I don't think anything bad can happen from feeling cold.

I haven't figured out what to do other than wear layers of clothes and I
now sleep in pajamas and socks! My hands are always freezing cold so I have
some crocheted fingerless mitts that I wear at the computer. Warms me up a
little and I can still type.
I do live in FL and have to remember to take off the mitts and sweaters
before going outside! Don't want the neighbors staring, you know! lol

Don't know where you live, but I'm in southern CA and I'm cold. Hate to
think how cold you might be on snowy areas. Yes, most people have the same
feeling as you--being cold. I used to walk around in a t shirt and shorts
and sandals all year long, and sleep with one blanket. Now I wear sweat
pants or regular pants, a button down shirt, and a jacket most of the day.
I now sleep with a single blanket, a comforter, topped off with a blanket
folded in half. I had to reset the thermostat in the house too. Less fat
on the body, and therefore less "fat" insulation. I'd rather wear
a jacket than pack around the 140 pounds I lost. DAVE

I live in Ct. And I am freezing all the time. Winter, spring summer and
fall. Me and my boyfirned are constantly battling over the heat in the
winter and the a/c in the summer. I have learned to dress warmer.
Especially at night. I look such the sight at night. Very sexy. Flannel
pajama bottoms long sleeve t-shirt. Soft furry socks and my slippers. I
guess this is what happens after losing all of your weight. When I was fat
I was always hot.

As you can see you are not alone...me included...I wear layers of clothes.
I keep bag in the car with a sweater for restaurants and stores just in
case I forget to wear one or the place has the air on too high in the
summer. I keep socks and a pair of slippers incase my feet get cold in the
car and because my feet actually cramp in sandals when it's cold in a
store. LOL I also have a blanket so when the air is on in the car at 78
and my husband is swaeting his arse off, I let him put it to 76 and put on
my blanket! hahaha
Try to smile without your teeth chattering...that's all you can do!

Like another poster said....get used to it. I was a cold blooded animal
before surgery and NOW??? I am in a state of being 1/2 frozen - from head
to toe. I would first suggest getting your iron checked and make sure you
are not amenic. Second, take hot showers to get your core temp warmed up,
buy a space heater and keep it blasting away. Buy blankets, sweaters, sit
in the sun when possible, take a brisk walk for lunch. Anything to get
warm....I sympathize. I am usually wearing 4-6 layers, it's ridiculous!

freezing is very common although you might get bloodwork just in case your
anemic, have you been taking your vitamins and iron every day? I am over 6
years out and hate winter I am always cold. congrats you lost your fat
coat:)

I agree with Bob - although it may simply be a matter of the WLS, I'd
suggest you let your surgeon know. He may want to get bloodwork to check
for anemia, etc.

Like a Bear in spring, we are loosing of coat of fat, so it is natural to
be somewhat cold. Just snggle up to someone warm!

Yes I am almost for years out and I agree as well. I had to do blood work
and i actually needed to take extra IRON so you may want to check it out.
However I am still cold LOL. I am so glad that the layered look is part of
fashion!!!!

Strange how you can you from always being warm to always feeling cold. The
fact that it is winter does not help much either. I myself am a little
over 3 months post-op and now also am always cold. In addition to that I
preach at youth groups, conferences, retreats, etc. Before the WLS,
everything I was at a speaking engagement, I would sweat a great deal,
since the WLS, when I am at a speaking engagement now, I don't sweat as I
once did. So one's body does go thru many changes as we loss the extra
layers off fat and being colder than what we are used to is just one of
those results. But the trip is completely worth the results...as of this
moment I am down 95 pounds, can't complain about that.

I'm freezing all the time too. I've lost 104 pounds and now I no longer
have that layer to keep me warm. Just put on a lot more clothes, buy warm
sweatshirts and layer. When I get really cold I take a hot bath (good
excuse to get a hot tub! LOL) But I've heard people say that eventually we
adjust a bit more, however we will probably always be colder than we used
to be. That is until those hot flashes hit us! ha ha

sleeve shirts, sweaters, pants and gloves. My hands and feet are always
freezing. I can't wait til summer gets here. Best wishes on your journey
to a better life.

I'm just down 141 lbs and I've noticed a huge difference between me cold
back then (it would take a lot) and me cold now. Whew! I keep looking at
it this way-- VERY small price to pay for this INCREDIBLE tool! Good luck
and God bless!

Try an electric mattress pad on your bed if you are cold while sleeping.
It makes a wonderful warm difference!

Layers are the answer! A thin t-shirt or tank-top, followed by a
long-sleeve shirt, with a hoodie or sweater on top.
I'm down to 128 (from 266) and have gotten used to wearing many layers...
even two pairs of thick socks during the day. Luckily, my old shoes and
boots are loose enough to accommodate them.
Can't wait for summer!
